Amazon #PrimeDay begins tonight (July 10) at 9:00 and extends throughout the day tomorrow (July 11). Here's a chance to snag some great deals while supporting DYS at the same time!
When you #StartWithaSmile on #PrimeDay, Amazon donates to Danbury Youth Services Inc. There is no added fee! However, you must use this link in order for DYS to receive credit: smile.amazon.com/ch/06-0878252
Thank you for helping to ensure that DYS can continue to carry out its mission of strengthening youth and families!
Thanks to our friends at S.E.T. Gym, we will once again be hosting our annual Spin-a-Thon fundraiser!
Join us for one hour, or five! Spin along to the music and empowering words of instructors John Mattio and Tonya Felton during one-hour themed intervals. (See registration form for schedule.)
We'll provide you with healthy snacks, water and loads of encouragement while you help provide DYS with funding for our programs that bring out the best in area youth!
A minimum donation of $25 is required to participate. Thank you for your continued support!
Visit the Danbury Youth Services Facebook page frequently throughout the day on Thursday, March 9 for live video from our kids, great stories from DYS alumni, and the chance to win a baseball signed by former Yankees pitcher Mariano Rivera or a pair of tickets to a New York Knicks game! Then “Give Where You Live” to help us raise $10,000 to keep our youth programs going— because they work! A link to our giving page will be posted here and on our Facebook page as of 12 a.m. March 9. Get ready to give!
Please join us Wednesday, March 8, from 5-8 p.m. at Danbury High School for activities, refreshments and information on:
Summer Camps for kids
Special Needs Programs & Resources
Teen Job/Volunteer Opportunities
Resources for Families
Hosted and facilitated by the Family Focus Partnership (FFP) and the Local Interagency Services Team (L.I.S.T.)
Have a neglected children's or adolescent bike taking up space in your garage? Even one that's a little broken? Donate it to WHEELS FOR KIDS, and make a local child's holiday bright!
Danbury Youth Services is once again collecting used bicycles to be repaired and spruced up by our young volunteers, then donated to Santa's Workshop at Dorothy Day Hospitality House as gifts for local children.
We are seeking trikes and bikes (ideally 20" or smaller) to be dropped off at Rogers Park Middle School on Tuesday, Dec. 13, from 3-8 p.m. VOLUNTEERS ARE ALSO NEEDED at that time to help with repairs.
To volunteer, or for more information, please contact Joseph Dobbins at (860) 375-4376 or email@example.com. Otherwise, you can just drop off your bike on Dec. 13!
Thanks for helping our kids to help others.
Our annual appeal continues! Please help us reach our $15,000 goal before year's end!
Why give to DYS? What exactly do we do, anyway?
DYS provides programs that help at-risk kids and their families learn to lead positive, productive lives. Each year, we make a difference for approximately 600 kids--building self-esteem and improving academic performance through after-school programs, one-on-one mentoring, youth employment services and family counseling.
No one is turned away for inability to pay. Your donation helps us keep it that way.
For detailed information about our programs, and to see the many ways in which DYS builds stronger communities, please browse this website.
But first, click here, then SHARE this post! Your community will thank you!
In observation of #GivingTuesday, Danbury Youth Services invites the community to join us for a Wine & Cheese Open House on Tuesday, Nov. 29. Please stop in to our office at 91 West Street anytime between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. to meet members of our board, our staff and even some of the kids whose lives we've helped to change. Take a brief tour and look at some of the projects they've been working on as you enjoy a nibble or a sip.
Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.
One of the best ways to get involved is in your own community. Please remember Danbury Youth Services this holiday season.
For more ways to get involved, visit www.givingtuesday.org.
We hope to see you here on Nov. 29!
