DYS receives notification from the Perrin Family Foundation of a $10,000 award for its Youth and Family Counseling Program.
DYS welcomes $11,500 from Fairfield County Community Foundation Donor Advised Funds for its Girls Leadership Program, Girls As Leaders (GAL’s Club) operated for middle school aged girls in the City of Danbury.
DYS received notification of a $15,000 award from Praxair, Inc. to help support its DYS programs. This funding will be instrumental in assisting the agency in reaching at-risk and vulnerable youth through its various youth development and prevention programs.
DYS received a $4500 grant from the Meserve Memorial Foundation for the implementation of its Information Technology Plan that includes the purchasing of new hardware and software for the agency.
DYS welcomes $2500 from the Savings Bank of Danbury Foundation. This grant will assist the agency in increasing counseling hours in its Youth and Family Counseling Program, serving more youth and families in the Danbury Community.
The TAUCK Foundation located in Norwalk, Ct. granted DYS $7,000 for it Girls As Leaders Program, an after school girls leadership program for girls ages 10 – 14. The program teaches social skills, leadership, and community service. This is the third year the program has operated in the City of Danbury, serving 18 – 25 middle school aged youth annually. DYS was the recipient of $3,000 from the St. Stephen’s Church in Ridgefield, CT. St. Stephen’s Church gave DYS funding through its annual fair that raised money for various priority organizations in the Greater Danbury Area.
The Pitney Bowes Literacy and Education Fund provided funding for the Kids Literacy Program that DYS operates in collaboration with Danbury Public Schools. The $25,000 received will be used to fund four (4) after school literacy instructors to work after school with students needing extra assistance in reading.
