Mentoring provides an opportunity for youth to build the life skills needed to make positive choices and function in a healthy way. It also offers an opportunity for adults to make a difference in the lives of young people.
Among those served in this program are youth in need of more individual attention than they receive in their natural or foster families. The mentoring program helps raise self-esteem of youth because they interact with responsible, caring adults who have volunteered to be with them. The program offers a valuable growth experience, rewarding for both youth and mentors.
